Fubara Opens Up On Control Of Rivers State
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has attributed the state’s political stability and progress to Divine intervention, emphasizing that God remains in control of the state’s affairs.
Governor Fubara made this assertion during a Christmas event hosted by former Governor Peter Odili in Port Harcourt. Addressing the gathering, Fubara reflected on the political challenges he has faced, particularly his ongoing disagreement with his predecessor, former Governor Nyesom Wike.
Despite several interventions, including efforts by President Bola Tinubu and other stakeholders, the rift between the two political heavyweights has persisted, casting a shadow over the state’s leadership.
Fubara, however, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of Rivers residents, which he described as a source of strength and encouragement. “My strength is drawn from every one of you that is here. You give me encouragement; you do the work for me; you make the calls for me. So, why won’t I stand up for you?” the governor said.
He stressed the pivotal role of faith in overcoming political crises, describing God as the “ultimate game changer, liberator, and fighter.” Fubara reassured residents that with Divine guidance, victory and progress for the state are assured.
The governor also acknowledged the challenges faced in leadership, viewing them as opportunities for growth in governance. He pledged to continue working towards a unified and prosperous Rivers State, assuring citizens of his administration’s commitment to integrity, continuity, and progress.
Prominent leaders who attended the event lauded Fubara’s resilience and dedication to the state’s development.
As Rivers State looks ahead to 2025, Governor Fubara called for collaboration among leaders and residents to ensure a harmonious and thriving future for the state.
