Backlash As Nollywood Star Shares Proposal On Instagram (Video)

Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji has sparked a wave of reactions from fans after posting a video of his proposal on Instagram.

In the clip, the actor, who is a father of two, can be seen proposing to an unnamed woman. The post was captioned with “And she said Yes,” along with love emojis, signaling his excitement about the new chapter in his life.

However, the video has not been well received by many of his followers. Several fans expressed their discontent, accusing Damola of abandoning the mother of his children.

Some critics were vocal in the comments, questioning his decision to propose to another woman. One user remarked, “You be mumu u leave beautiful woman go marry this kind person bro you no get eyes,” while another said, “You left that beautiful ebony for a Latino.” Others continued to voice their disapproval, with one comment saying, “You no dey sleep on top this Latino?” and another suggesting, “You no well ooo. You don give bloggers headlines.”

Despite the backlash, some fans speculated that the proposal video might be part of a movie project, with one comment stating, “Na movie joor,” while others expressed confusion, asking for clarification about the situation.

This controversy over the proposal comes after Damola Olatunji’s separation from actress Bukola Arugba, who is the mother of his twin children. The couple ended their relationship in May 2023, with Bukola publicly announcing their split through her legal representatives. Although many believed the two were married, they were never legally married.

Following the breakup, Damola shared posts on social media that seemed to suggest he was unfazed, referring to himself as a “grace carrier” and a man “without worries.” In a July interview, he dismissed rumors about his personal life, including allegations about leaving his home or marriage. He emphasized the importance of walking away from relationships that no longer work, rather than resorting to violence.

In November, Damola once again made headlines when fans speculated that he might be the father of actress Dayo Amusa’s child, after he was seen attending the child’s naming ceremony. Damola Olatunji later confirmed the speculation before the proposal with the yet to be identified lady.
