Controversy As Abel Damina Takes Aim At Catholic Church (Video)
By Mani Imman
Strong reactions are following the claims of controversial cleric, Dr Abel Damina that the Roman Catholic Church will be emptied if it encouraged its members to read the bible.
Dr Abel Damina had won renown for his renunciation of the prosperity gospel and attack of many Pentecostal pastors engaged in the promotion of self, sacrifice and style, but his turn towards the Catholic Church is one that is energizing social media.
GWG.ng reports that Damina had been particularly vicious over the collection of tithes and such elements of Old Testament worship.
However, in a video now trending, Abel Damina during a church service affirmed that if the Catholic Church encouraged its members to read the bible that no one would remain in the flock. His assertion which has generated a social media storm, however, would be controverted by some who say that the present-day Catholic Church does not specifically ban its members from holding the bible as was alleged in the past.
“If the Catholic Church encouraged their members to read the bible, nobody will be there now. They know that if their people read the bible carefully all that thing they are doing will be exposed, so they make sure they discourage them from reading and only what the father says is final. That’s why if you engage them, they cannot engage properly in bible discussion,” Damina said.

Someone should remind Pastor Damina that he has a bible to quote from (even most times out of context like he did in this video) was because of the Catholic Church. That Christianity still exists to and with values is because of the strong doctrines of the Catholic Church constantly acting as the big brother to all Christians. Nigerian Pentecostal churches ignorance has contributed to eroding Christianity in Nigeria. Finally, for the ignorant ones out there, in a Calendar year of the Catholic Church, the bible(the real unadulterated bible) is covered from the beginning to the end. P.S, this doesn’t mean the Catholic Church is without fault. Religion is and will always remain the agent of control.

Now we have 900 English translations of the bible. Like if you don’t like what one translation is saying, you have 899 other options. It’s almost like the catholic church knew what they were doing right?
Nahvidad @IgbokweFelix
Do you know that the Roman Catholic church killed John Hus and William Tyndale for the translation of the Bible to common language everyone could understand? How then do you say that they contributed to the preservation of the Bible we read today?

You have put it very well. We should be busy preaching the Gospel to the many pple who don’t know Christ not fighting each other

No. This is false. Big brother in Christianity ?With this statement, I’m sure you guys don’t read the Bible
Ugo @ugo_uzu
There is no such thing as the “real unadulterated Bible.” Do you know how many conferences were convened to resolve the issue of the Trinity? Do you know the history of how the King James version came about? Do you know that the Catholic Church used to sell pardons for sins?

Where did the bible he is using come from

Fallacy.
THE HOPE @judecstephen
No true religion should have faults; if it does, it may be deceiving people. The major religions on earth often have inconsistencies. If religion is meant to lead people to God, it should be straightforward and without flaws.

I remembered warning about this man’s controversial teachings, good a thing, you are seeing it yourself .

When he says something that makes sense, we agree. When he says nonsense, we talk. It’s not even right to agree with everything a particular preacher says, not when good have you common sense.
Sheriff Ayatollah @Sherrifftollah
The Catholic gang can never have peace with the truth but one thing remains a fact, the congregants are indoctrinated to point where they can never reason for themselves, everything gets programmed at the Vatican and it’s trickled down to the common man who blindly consumes it.
The Catholic Church in Nigeria is yet to give a formal response to the claims of Dr Abel Damina.
