New Details On Origin Of Iconic Yoruba Song ‘Odun Lo Sopin’ (Video)

Renowned gospel singer and leader of the Good Women Choir, Mrs. Deborah Fasoyin, has revealed intriguing details about the origin of the timeless Christmas anthem, Odun Lo Sopin.

In an interview, the 84-year-old gospel legend disclosed that she was not the original composer of the widely beloved song, Odin Lo sopin. She explained that the chorus was commonly sung during revival meetings organized by a branch of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Ibadan several decades ago.

“Till today, we don’t know who composed the song- Odun lo sopin,” Fasoyin admitted, shedding light on the mystery surrounding its authorship. She added, “I only contributed by adding two verses to the chorus.”
