Questions Trail Governor’s Sack Of Cabinet

Suspense is trailing the decision of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State to dissolve his cabinet culminating in the sack of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Muhammad Ubandona-Aliyu, and all commissioners.

The shocking news on the Nasarawa cabinet was e in a statement signed by Mohammed Illiyasu-Idde, Permanent Secretary for Cabinet Affairs and Special Duties in the Office of the SSG, on Friday, January 3, 2025, in Lafia.

The statement clarified that the dissolution took immediate effect and directed all outgoing commissioners to hand over the affairs of their ministries, along with any government property in their possession, to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.

Similarly, Ubandona-Aliyu was instructed to transfer responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary for Cabinet Affairs and Special Services.

Governor Sule expressed his appreciation to the outgoing cabinet members for their service and contributions to the development of the state, wishing them success in their future endeavors.

GWG.ng reports that the lack of reason given for the dissolution of the cabinet has thrown up Conspiracy theories as to the motif of the Nasarawa governor.

The move was especially shocking given the fact the Nasarawa cabinet is less than two years old.
