SV-NED NYSC job for youth

A new partnership between Silicon Valley Nigeria Economic Development (SV-NED Inc. USA/SV-NED Energy Ltd) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), with the support of foreign investors, aims to boost Nigeria’s economy, create jobs, and promote skills development in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The collaboration was formally launched with the inauguration of the Project Implementation Committee (PIC) in Abuja.

During the ceremony, HRH Queen Mother Amb. Amina Temitope Labinjo Ajayi, also known as “Mama Diaspora” and Chairman of SV-NED, highlighted the significance of the partnership. She emphasized that it was a critical step towards national development, focusing on key initiatives such as the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Conversion Centre and affordable housing projects. “The inauguration of this committee is a strategic step toward achieving national goals,” she said. “This partnership aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, empowering Nigerian youth and fostering unity.”

Amb. Ajayi also reiterated the dedication of SV-NED and NYSC in providing leadership and support to ensure the success of the projects, which she believes will create opportunities for Nigerian youth and help strengthen the economy.

The NYSC Director-General, represented by the Director of Legal Services, also spoke about the advantages of the partnership, noting that it would provide corps members with essential knowledge in the oil and gas industry, enhancing their skill sets beyond their primary assignments.

Several dignitaries were present at the event, including NYSC Directors Momoh Mohammed, Christopher Ogar, Kehinde Aremu, and Engr. Kamaru Busari from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. The event also highlighted housing initiatives under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, with plans to build 10,112 housing units to address Nigeria’s housing deficit as part of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme.

The ceremony concluded with a commitment from all stakeholders to work together in achieving the goals of the partnership, ensuring it serves as a model for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
