A viral video circulating on social media has shown Nigerian comedian GOE lamenting over the fake friendships that surrounded him after receiving a N20 million gift from music superstar Wizkid.

In the emotional clip, GOE revealed how people flocked to him, pretending to be friends once they heard about the substantial cash gift. He recounted how some even offered their cars to drive him around as they spent lavishly together. However, he now finds himself abandoned, with no one around after the money ran out.

“After Wizkid gave me 20 million naira, a lot of people became my friends. Some brought their cars just to take me out, and we spent the money together. Now that the money is finished, nobody is with me anymore,” GOE lamented.

Wizkid’s generous gift to GOE last year made headlines, with many praising the singer’s philanthropic spirit. However, GOE’s latest outcry draws attention to the fleeting nature of fame and fortune, as well as the insincerity that often accompanies sudden wealth.

His statement comes amid social media discussions following Burna Boy’s recent $30,000 gift to the man claiming to be Cubana Chief Priest’s brother.
