SSG Loses Daughter, 3 Grandchildren In House Fire

A devastating fire incident in Sokoto State has plunged the community into mourning as four members of the family of Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), lost their lives.
Among the deceased were Sifawa’s daughter and her three children leaving the family and the entire state in shock and grief.
The fire, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, engulfed their home, leaving only her husband, Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, as the sole survivor. Bello, who serves as the Permanent Secretary of the Sokoto State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development, managed to escape the inferno.
The Sokoto State Fire Service battled for hours to control the flames, but the fire had already caused irreparable loss. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the tragedy.
The remains of the victims will be buried at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque in Sifawa, with the final rites set to take place at midnight at the family home of the SSG. This tragic event has prompted an outpouring of condolences from all corners of the state.
Deputy Governor Engr. Idris Mohammed Gobir, state executive council members, political figures, friends, and sympathizers have gathered in Sifawa to express their support and share in the family’s sorrow.
