In New Twist APC Mocks Over Threats To Peter Obi’s Life
By Emmanuel Aziken
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted with indignation over claims of threats to the life and family of 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
The APC spoke in response after supporters of Peter Obi generally known as Obidients alleged a threat to the life and family of the opposition leader upon comments made by the party’s spokesman, Felix Morka.
GWG.ng reports that Morka had during a television interview on Arise News TV slammed Peter Obi over repeated criticism of the Tinubu administration saying:
“No, he is the one that is throwing darts. Mr Obi is shooting from the hip. He is not looking; he is not taking an aim. He just shoots wildly like what we used to see in movies back in the day, in the Wild Wild West,” Morka said.
While noting that Peter Obi was irrational in his assessment of the Tinubu administration, he had further said “for a man who was governor for eight years, who left nothing to remember in Anambra State by a way of legacy or transformation.”
While accusing Peter Obi of sulking because he lost the 2023 presidential election, the APC spokesman had further alleged that the opposition leader had crossed the line, a tone that has enraged Obidients and raised insinuations of threats to the life of Peter Obi.
“Mr Obi has crossed the line so many times and I think that at this point he has coming to him whatever he gets, he needs to manage it.”
GWG.ng reports that Peter Obi had also raised the issue of a threat to his life from the assertions of the APC’s publicity secretary, Morka:
“However, I will not be silenced in my resolve to speak truthfully, especially as our nation continues to drift toward undemocratic practices.”
Reacting to the uproar over the alleged threat to the life of Peter Obi, the APC late on Monday issued a post on X saying:
“After losing the argument, typical Obidients have resorted to spreading false and malicious information suggesting that Felix Morka, APC NPS, threatened @PeterObi’s life. As clip and transcript show, Morka’s answer to @ARISEtv question contains no threat, whatsoever, against anyone.”
