Men Behind Reports Of Oborevwori’s Defection Revealed

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has rejected rumors claiming that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori intends to switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC) naming jobless political hirelings for the rumours.

While dismissing the reports as false, the party described the “jobless political hirelings” as being sponsored by some corrupt personalities in the state.

In a statement issued on Monday, Solomon Arenyeka, the state chairman of PDP, urged the public to ignore the “dubious speculation” surrounding the Governor’s political affiliations.

The statement said, “The attention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Delta State chapter, has been drawn to mischievous, sinister, and baseless speculations, especially on social media, suggesting that Governor Oborevwori is planning to join the APC. We view these reports as the handiwork of political hirelings with failed intentions.”

The PDP leadership emphasized that the individuals spreading these rumors, whom they called “impostors,” do not belong to the party and have no legitimate influence within it. They condemned the unfounded claims and particularly criticized the key individual behind the rumors as a “notorious serial blackmailer” whose actions are rooted in deceit.

Furthermore, the PDP leadership reassured the public that Governor Oborevwori remains committed to his governance, focusing on his M.O.R.E agenda, which includes significant improvements in social infrastructure and human capital development across the state. They made it clear that nothing would distract the Governor from his mission of delivering good governance.
