A Nigerian graduate has taken to social media to express regret over her current situation, lamenting her decision to pursue a degree at Lagos State University (LASU) after spending five years studying, only to end up as a zobo seller.

In a video shared on her TikTok page, the young LASU graduate cum entrepreneur gave followers a glimpse into her daily hustle as she makes ends meet by being a seller of Zobo, a popular hibiscus drink.

Reflecting on her academic journey, the graduate disclosed that if she had known her efforts in school would lead her to a small-scale business, she would not have enrolled in the university.

“If I had known it’s zobo I’d end up selling, I’d have not wasted five years of my life in LASU,” she captioned the post, sparking mixed reactions across social media.

The graduate’s candid revelation has fueled debates about the challenges faced by young Nigerians in the job market and the realities of unemployment despite obtaining higher education. While some users sympathized with her, others encouraged her to take pride in her hustle, emphasizing the importance of hard work and perseverance in any field.

At the time of this report, the video continues to generate widespread attention, with many calling for more sustainable job creation and entrepreneurial support for graduates in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, GWG.ng reports that the circumstances of the young LASU graduate mirror the fate of many others who even consider being a zobo seller a better condition than their difficult conditions.
