Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has fled Los Angeles due to the severe wildfires sweeping across California.

The fires have devastated the southern part of the state, known as the entertainment capital of the world.

California has been facing extreme wildfires, and over 137,000 people have been forced to evacuate their homes, with several casualties reported. The BBC confirmed that strong winds and dry conditions have fueled the flames, and there are no guarantees that the fires will be contained anytime soon.

Hollywood celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Ben Affleck, and Anna Faris, among others, have also been impacted by the wildfires, with many evacuating their homes in the affected areas. Nigerian reality TV star, Morey Faith, also shared a video of the disaster on her Instagram, showing the extent of the damage.

In light of these events, Omotola shared an update with her fans on Instagram on Thursday. She revealed that she was now in Abuja after quickly evacuating her home in just 20 minutes. She urged her followers to stay safe and check on family members living in Los Angeles. Omotola wrote, “Touch down Abuja. When my American fans come back to Nigeria. I had to evacuate in 20 minutes. Please, guys stay safe out there. If you have family in LA, check on them.”

In a heartfelt prayer, she called on God to intervene for those impacted, as reports indicate the fires have claimed at least five lives. She wrote, “Oh God, we lift Los Angeles up before you… This is heartbreaking for my friends already affected.”
