The National Sports Commission (NSC) has reassigned 57 Secretary-Generals and other officials to various National Sports Federations as part of an effort to rejuvenate the sports sector.

Olumide Bamiduro, the Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes at the NSC, announced this in Abuja on Friday. He confirmed that the 57 Secretary-Generals and five additional officers had already been reassigned.

This decision aligns with the vision of NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade. Bamiduro stated, “The mandate is clear. We are to undertake these changes to achieve the results and position the industry to attract private and corporate investments, thereby driving the growth of our sports economy.”

Bamiduro also mentioned that the Federation Establishment and Appointment Department will follow through on the new postings. He added, “They are expected to play pivotal roles in steering the sports sector towards its new direction, focused on innovation, grassroots/elite development, and economic growth.”

The reshuffle affects various sports federations, including those for Athletics, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Wrestling.
