NURTW Crisis MC Oluomo Court

The ongoing leadership crisis within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has taken a dramatic turn, with supporters of National President Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa fiercely condemning Musiliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, for defying a court order to vacate his position.

The leadership crisis within the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has deepened, with supporters of the embattled National President, Alhaji Tajudeen Baruwa, condemning Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, for refusing to vacate his position despite a court ruling.

Comrade Abideen Ejiogbe, the Oyo State Chairman of NURTW, criticized MC Oluomo for his continued hold on the National President’s role, calling it a clear disregard for the judiciary. He also pointed fingers at the Southwest Council Chairmen of the union, accusing them of supporting what he called an illegal and unconstitutional tenure.

The national leadership of NURTW has repeatedly stated that MC Oluomo’s appointment as National President lacks legitimacy. This position has been backed by a court ruling, which declared his leadership unlawful.

Despite this, MC Oluomo has remained defiant, refusing to step down, which has sparked further criticism from union members across the country. The situation has only intensified the divisions within the organization, with rival factions growing more hostile.

Ejiogbe called for public rejection of what he described as an attempt to hijack the union, urging members to stand firm in their fight for justice and democratic principles. He also appealed for calm amid the escalating tensions within the union.
