Blackface Reveals 2Baba Declined To Join New Album, The Return

Singer Blackface has shared that 2Baba, his former bandmate from the iconic group Plantashun Boiz, turned down an opportunity to feature on his latest album, ‘The Return’.
During an interview with TVC, Blackface disclosed that 2Baba was not part of the album because he was unwilling to participate. “Faze has a feature, but 2Baba is not on the album because he is not ready to be part of it,” he explained.
The album, which consists of 18 to 19 tracks, showcases Blackface’s commitment to his music career despite the lack of involvement from his former collaborator. He elaborated, “We already had the time to go to the studio, but they didn’t want to. If somebody gives you the impression that they are not ready to do this anymore, do you keep waiting or move ahead? So I moved ahead.”
Blackface also emphasized his dedication to the music industry and his expectations for acknowledgment. “I am not demanding anything, just my respect,” he said. “I have put in so much work in this game for the people who are even benefiting from it today, for the young ones that came after. I put in a lot of work; you can’t just take me out.”
Despite the absence of 2Baba, Blackface expressed pride in ‘The Return’ and its significance to his career and legacy in the Nigerian music scene.
