I have no regrets Ajayi

Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old man charged with the brutal murder of 24-year-old NYSC member Salome Adaidu, expressed “no regret” for his actions, justifying the crime with personal grievances.

Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old resident of Nasarawa State, has been remanded in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) following his arrest for the murder of 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu.

The murder occurred after Adaidu visited Ajayi’s home in the Papalanda area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area. After mutilating Adaidu’s body, Ajayi was arrested on January 12 while attempting to dispose of her severed head.

In a chilling interview with Channels Television, Ajayi revealed that he had no remorse for his actions. He explained that jealousy had driven him to kill Adaidu, stating, “I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time, it’s not something I planned. It happened on that day and it happened. Not that I have the plan in mind, she was cheating.”

Ajayi added that he had discovered Adaidu’s infidelity through her phone, saying, “I saw her chats with other guys on the phone, that was why I decided.” Despite the brutality of his crime, Ajayi insisted, “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal, that is what I thought. If you must do something to someone, you have to be reciprocal with that person. You have to understand what that person is going through so that you can actually put yourself in the position that the person is going through.”

Ajayi’s lack of remorse has sparked strong reactions from the public, with many expressing their shock and disgust. One user, @TaiwoTaiwo4967, tweeted, “I’m even getting more terribly scared of this life, hmmm. Strange world.” Others criticized Ajayi’s behavior as mentally unstable, with @InnotechI stating, “He’s a beast and mentally unstable!” @AkandeIske16373 called him a “mad man,” while @AdeyemiGCFR labeled him “mentally retarded.”

Furthermore, many believe that Ajayi’s excuses for his actions should not be tolerated. @Manlike_Solz suggested, “This murderer should get the death sentence. Letting him give excuses in interviews just encourages more unprovoked killings… You kill someone, you die as well.” Others, such as @Topetopzy, were equally baffled, asking, “How does this make sense to you Ajayi? Keep fooling yourself.”

@KosyAmalu expressed disdain, saying, “No excuse oga.” The case continues to raise questions about accountability and the consequences of such actions.
