Nigerian music sensation, Oludipe David, popularly known as Spyro, has addressed his ongoing dispute involving show promoter PaulO and music executive Ubi Franklin, setting the record straight about where his grievances lie.

The controversy began following an interview on Echoroom, where Spyro revealed he never made financial gains while signed under PaulO’s management. The claims prompted a heated reaction from PaulO’s daughter, Vanzyvanz, who detailed her father’s significant investments in Spyro’s career, amounting to over ₦12 million without returns.

In his social media statement, Spyro clarified his stance:
“Let’s leave Oga PaulO out of this. Once my boss, always my boss. I have no issues with him whatsoever. The real focus should be on Ubi Franklin—an outright sca*mer at his core.”

Spyro’s frustrations stem from a business fallout with Ubi Franklin. He alleged that Ubi orchestrated a deceptive scheme by falsely claiming that global star Davido personally requested Spyro’s performance at a birthday party, offering $5,000 for the gig. However, the singer later discovered Davido had no connection to the arrangement, and the payment was never delivered.

“Ubi ambushed me,” Spyro lamented. “He said Davido wanted me to perform. After the show, the story changed. Charging $5,000 was already way below my standard fee of at least ₦20 million. Realizing it wasn’t Davido’s gig felt like betrayal.”

Responding on social media, Ubi Franklin fired back with counterclaims, accusing Spyro of owing him 10% from a car purchase deal. He explained that he facilitated the purchase of a ₦100 million car for Spyro, initially waiving his commission, but later sought payment after a performance in Ghana.

“Spyro reached out to me for help with buying a car. I connected him to the dealer and was entitled to 10% of the deal. I let it slide until we got a $5,000 gig in Ghana. I reminded him about my commission, and he promised to pay after settling the car. Since then, he’s been avoiding my calls,” Ubi stated.

Both Spyro and Ubi have since released private conversations to back their claims, fueling a social media storm and dividing opinions within the music industry. Some accuse Ubi of exploitation, while others criticize Spyro for dishonoring agreements.

As the feud escalates, the saga continues to capture widespread attention, with fans eagerly following the unfolding drama.
