Mohbad’s father on son's DNA

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian artist Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has expressed doubts about the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam. He has called for a DNA test to confirm the relationship.

In an interview with Silverbird TV, Aloba voiced his frustrations about the lack of communication from Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and their son since the singer’s passing. “I’ve not seen Mohbad’s wife and son since his death. Even my son, Adura, none of them came to me. They know where I’m living. They are supposed to come to me. The way I’m looking at things, they are supposed to bring that child to me and say, ‘This is your grandson,’” he said.

When asked if Liam bore any resemblance to Mohbad, Aloba responded firmly, “No, no, no. With what I’m seeing, he’s not. If the DNA says he is, it’s acceptable.” He shared that he had requested a DNA test but claimed the process had been delayed. “I demanded DNA; they are supposed to say, ‘Daddy, do it at your convenient time,’ but they have been hiding it. So, it became a public matter. Let the court have the final say concerning it. I’ll know exactly what to do from there,” Aloba stated.

Aloba also expressed concern about his other son, Adura, who lived with Mohbad before his death. He revealed that Adura had become distant since the tragedy. “Adura is now 22 years old, but he never called me or came to my house since his brother’s death. It’s like some people are covering him. We used to be together, but something separated us after Mohbad’s death,” Aloba explained.

He added that Adura might hold key information about what happened to Mohbad, as they lived together. “Adura is supposed to fill me in on exactly what happened to his brother; they were living in the same house. He is supposed to know,” he concluded.
