Govt Declares Public Holiday

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared Friday, January 17, 2025, a public holiday to enable residents to prepare for the Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, January 18.

In an official statement from the Ondo Governor’s Office, public servants and other eligible voters were urged to seize the opportunity of the public holiday to travel to their respective hometowns and actively participate in the electoral process.

Governor Aiyedatiwa also emphasized the importance of maintaining peace during the polls and appealed to all stakeholders to conduct the election in an orderly and violence-free manner.

While the Ondo state residents prepares for the upcoming local government election, GWG.ng reports that Controversy has enveloped the video of a member of the House of Representatives when Adigun Abass, Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in Oyo State who was captured struggling to express himself while attempting to present a motion.

Online judgment on the capacity of Adigun Abass to represent his constituents upon his failure to properly articulate himself while presenting a motion has been clouded with another video of the same lawmaker expressing himself better.

The new video of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker has led to questions as to the sobriety of Adigun Abass in the controversial video that has captivated Nigerians on the quality of the country’s lawmakers.
