BREAKING: Tinubu Meets With Fubara And Ogoni Leaders
By Benjamin Abioye

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is holding a meeting with Rivers Governor Fubara and key Ogoni leaders at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Governor Fubara, who was accompanied by Senator Lee Maeba, arrived with a distinguished delegation, including Senators Magnus Abe, Olaka Nwogu, Bennett Birabi Barry, Mpigi, and Joe Poroma. Also present were prominent figures like Chief Victor Giadom, Chief Kenneth Kobani, Monsignor Pius Kii, and Ledum Mitee.
The meeting also brought together high-ranking government officials such as Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Balarabe Abba, the Minister of Environment, Idris Mohammed, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Abubakar Momoh, the Minister of Regional Development, and Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser.
While the details of the meeting’s agenda have not been revealed, it is widely believed that discussions were focused on the Ogoni clean-up project and the potential resumption of oil exploration in the region.
However, the meeting has faced some controversy, as the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has expressed strong objections to being left out. In a statement signed by its three factional presidents—Prince Nuyete Biira, Fegalo Nsuke, and Engr. Olu Andah Wai-Ogosu—MOSOP voiced its dissatisfaction with the lack of consultation, calling the meeting “clandestine” and warning that it could jeopardize ongoing peace and reconciliation efforts in Ogoniland.
