EFCC Opeartive’s Murder: Tinubu’s Cheerleader Calls Out Peter Obi
By Gideon Ayeni

Nigerian social commentator and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has criticized Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for his silence regarding the murder of Aminu Sahabi Salisu, an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Anambra State.
Reno Omokri who has turned into one of the leading cheerleaders of the policies and programmes of the Bola Tinubu administration has flayed Peter Obi’s silence over the death of the EFCC operative in Anambra State.
GWG.ng reports that Salisu was reportedly killed by Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu, a man the EFCC operatives had been trailing in Awka. The tragic incident has sparked outrage, with many calling for justice.
Omokri, however, took issue with Peter Obi lack of a public statement on the matter, contrasting it with his swift condemnation of the killing of Deborah Samuel, a student murdered in Sokoto last year over alleged blasphemy.
“When will Peter Obi condemn the cold-blooded murder of Aminu Sahabi Salisu by Joshua Chukwubueze Ikechukwu? Is Peter Obi in support of Salisu’s murder? We remember how quickly he spoke out when Deborah Samuel was killed in Sokoto,” Omokri stated.
The outspoken critic accused Obi of selective outrage, questioning his consistency and priorities. He further alleged that Obi’s responses appear to be regionally biased, saying, “When such incidents occur outside the Southeast, Obi makes public statements. But when it happens in Igboland, he remains silent.”
GWG.ng reports that the attack on Peter Obi by Omokri is ironic for many given his past claims prior to the 2023 election that the former Anambra State governor is about the best qualified to be president of Nigeria.
