Students Beat Nigerian Teacher To Coma

Some students of Ebira Muslim Community College Okengwe, (EMCCO) in Okene LGA o Kogi state allegedly beat one of their teachers to a coma forcing him to be hospitalised.

The boys who are said to be in SS2, operating in the guise of a cult group were said to have embarrassed and humiliated their Physics teacher, Mr Muktar Salihu in the moments leading to the altercation.

The beating of the teacher by the EMCCO students was said to have been part of their grand plan to bring the college under their full control and administrative commandment.

The alleged leader of the group, is said to be a son to one of the traditional rulers in the area.

As at the time of writing this report, the teacher was said to be responding to treatment in hospital and left coma.

One of the school teachers has however called on relevant agencies to assist the school in curbing the activities of the ‘boys’

“We urge the State Ministry of Education, State Education Board, the security agencies and other relevant authorities to urgently swing into action with a view to bringing the perpetuators to book, forestall future occurrences and instil discipline in our schools and colleges” the teachers stated.

According to a report in Vanguard, the District Police Officer in the area has waded into the matter and has ordered the traditional ruler to produce his son tomorrow unfailingly.
