The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has honored the late Assistant Superintendent, Aminu Salisu, by renaming the Administrative Department of its academy in Karu after him.
Salisu was tragically killed on January 17 in Anambra State by a suspected internet fraudster.
The announcement was made by EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede during the agency’s 2024 Rewards and Recognition Awards held in Abuja on Saturday. Olukoyede vowed to ensure that justice is served in Salisu’s case and reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to supporting the families of officers who lose their lives in service.
“We will not forget those who have sacrificed their lives for this nation,” Olukoyede stated. “The administrative building of the EFCC Academy will now bear the name of Aminu Salisu, in recognition of his bravery.”
The EFCC chairman also used the occasion to commend the dedication of the agency’s staff, urging them to remain resolute in their fight against financial crimes. He reiterated the EFCC’s determination to rid Nigeria of corruption despite resistance and challenges.
