Former President Muhammadu Buhari has shared that his health has greatly improved since leaving office, with many visitors commenting on his better appearance.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has spoken about the difficulties of governing Nigeria, describing it as a country full of complex issues and challenges often compounding the health of leaders.

Buhari shared his health status during a meeting with All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders at the Katsina Government House. The gathering aimed to discuss strategies for the upcoming local government elections in Katsina State, set for February 15.

Reflecting on his time in office, Buhari noted the immense challenges his administration faced, despite efforts to tackle Nigeria’s issues. “Those outside the corridors of power do not understand the complexities and difficulties facing Nigeria,” he said, emphasizing how tough the task of leadership was.

Buhari also shared that his health has greatly improved since he left office in May 2023, noting that many visitors have commented on his better appearance. “My health has improved since leaving office. People who visited me told me I look better than before,” he added.

During his address, Buhari urged political leaders to remain accountable, both to Allah and the people, stressing the importance of transparency in managing public resources. “It is important for leaders to remember that they are accountable to Allah and the people. Transparency is key in managing public funds,” he said.

The meeting, focused on the upcoming local government elections, brought together key political figures in Katsina, including former Governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema, Governor Dikko Umar Radda, and several current and former members of the National Assembly, along with APC party leaders.
