By Benjamin Abioye

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to ask the U.S. government to deport his uncle, claiming that his uncle has not contributed anything positive to his life.
The post of the Nigerian man asking President Donald Trump to deport his uncle because he has added no value to his life has gathered popular attention on TikTok.
In the post, the man expressed his frustration, stating that his uncle lives in the United States but has not been helpful in any meaningful way. He went on to request that the U.S. government deport his uncle back to Nigeria, believing that his uncle’s presence in his life has added no value. The message read: “Abeg, U.S. government, I get one uncle for U.S. wey never add any value to my life. Abeg, make una deport am come Nigeria.”
As the post went viral, many users reacted in the comments section, offering a mix of sympathy, criticism, and advice. One user, Vivian.offor, suggested that life abroad might not be easy for his uncle, stating, “Do you think abroad is easy for him and he refuses to help, plz stop that.” Another user, Solomon Damilare, shared a personal story about a similar experience, saying, “I get one brother for USA I stop school so that he can travel to USA my mother hustle for money I could not also continue my education because of my brother after my brother reach there he forgot us.”
Others had a more pragmatic approach. Charlesomonigho26 advised the man to focus on self-improvement, commenting, “It good for you to hustle for self bro. And not your uncle will make your life better ooo.” EDEHIA questioned the man’s own contributions, asking, “What about you, who you help because last time I check you be uncle too.” Meanwhile, AYAN_AGALU reminded him that his uncle is not obligated to help, saying, “He is not obligated to do anything for you, it’s his personal decision to do whatever.”
A final comment from #gratefulheart suggested that if the man wanted his uncle to add value to his life, he should also consider helping his uncle in return, noting, “People de send something from Nigeria to the U.S.A you can add value to your uncle’s life too.”
The post has sparked a wider conversation about family responsibilities and personal obligations.
