Ikpeazu Pledges Loyalty To PDP

Former Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to unite and work toward returning the party to power in 2027 in the state.

Former Governor Okeize Ikpeazu has pledged his unwavering commitment to the PDP, assuring supporters that he would not leave the party despite the recent defections of some members.

Speaking to PDP members from Abia South at his Umuobiakwa residence, Ikpeazu emphasized that the party must work hard to regain its success. He urged the party members to remain dedicated and support the PDP during this challenging period.

Ikpeazu also appealed to party members to stay loyal and not abandon the party, especially during tough times. He reassured them that he would continue to back the PDP, as it played a significant role in his political journey.

Addressing the defections that followed the party’s defeat to the Labour Party in 2023, Ikpeazu encouraged PDP members in Obingwa to stay focused and not be discouraged by those leaving. He acknowledged the party’s current struggles but reassured them that better days were ahead. Ikpeazu assured loyal members that their dedication would be rewarded when the party’s fortunes improved.

The former governor also praised the leadership of Abraham Amah, the new head of the State Working Committee, expressing confidence that Amah’s leadership would help return the party to power in 2027.
