Pi Pioneers Get Extended Grace Period For Mainnet Migration
By Benjamin Abioye

Pi Network has extended its Grace Period deadline from January 31, 2025 to February 28, 2025.
This extension gives Pioneers extra time to complete their KYC verification and Mainnet migration. The move is part of Pi Network’s effort to ensure fairness and inclusivity across its community.
According to the network, the new deadline will not affect the Open Network launch, which is still scheduled for Q1 2025. Officials emphasize that the Grace Period and Open Network timing are independent. They stated, “If you miss the February 28, 2025 deadline, you will only keep the Pi mined in the 6 months immediately before your migration. Any older balance outside this rolling window will be forfeited.”
The extra time is intended to help Pioneers who need additional support to complete their migration steps. It also aims to remedy corner cases without expending too many resources on individual issues. By allowing more Pioneers to finish KYC and migrate, the network expects to strengthen its ecosystem and improve overall security ahead of the Open Network launch.
Pioneers are urged to act quickly by going to their Pi mining app and tapping on the “Mainnet Checklist” to review and complete all required steps. The checklist includes details on completing additional liveness checks, signing the token acknowledgment, and securing accounts as needed.
This extension is another step in Pi Network’s commitment to building a robust, decentralized ecosystem. By ensuring more verified members on Mainnet, the network hopes to boost its utility and support smooth operations once the Open Network goes live.
