TeeBillz Opens Up On Why Marriage To Tiwa Savage Collapsed

Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TeeBillz, has opened up about the reasons behind the collapse of his marriage to Tiwa Savage.

In an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, TeeBillz revealed that his unpreparedness for marriage was a key factor in their separation.

TeeBillz and Tiwa Savage married in 2013, but their relationship ended in 2018 after multiple attempts to reconcile. Reflecting on the breakdown of their marriage, TeeBillz admitted that he was not ready to take on the role of a husband when they got married. “When I married Tiwa, I had no reason to get married because I wasn’t ready to be a husband, and I didn’t know what being a husband meant,” he explained.

He also addressed the negative perception people had about him during the marriage breakdown, stating that he stayed silent while others blamed him for the failure. “When everyone said TeeBillz was this and about my marriage to Tiwa Savage—that I was the bad guy—I stayed silent,” TeeBillz shared. He also pointed out that only he, Tiwa, and God truly know what happened, adding that the entertainment industry, where both he and Tiwa were deeply involved, was a toxic environment that played a significant role in their troubles.

TeeBillz stressed the importance of co-parenting after the divorce, noting that despite their separation, he and Tiwa still maintain mutual respect for the sake of their child. “Now, my son comes to my house to be with his siblings, and my children go to Tiwa’s house. My daughter and Tiwa go to concerts every time,” he said. TeeBillz emphasized that despite the emotional journey, they remain a family, bound by their child and their shared goal of supporting his well-being.
