Sanwo-Olu Celebrates Tems On Historic Grammy Win

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, for winning the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards with her song Love Me JeJe.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sanwo-Olu described Tems’ victory in the 2025 Grammy awards as a historic achievement, noting that she is the first Nigerian artiste to win in the newly introduced category. He praised her for showcasing exceptional talent and dedication to her craft.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Temilade Openiyi @temsbaby for winning the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards with her song Love Me JeJe,” Sanwo-Olu wrote.

The governor also commended other Nigerian nominees, including Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, and Davido, for their outstanding contributions to music. He acknowledged their role in elevating Nigeria’s presence on the global stage and expressed immense pride in their accomplishments.
