Suspense Trails Kidnap Of Edo Traditional Ruler

The traditional ruler of Udo-Eguare, in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State, His Royal Highness Friday Ehizojie, has been kidnapped by gunmen
He was reportedly abducted along a forest path between Ubiaja and Udo community, where the attackers ambushed him.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants shot and killed a commercial motorcycle rider before abducting the traditional ruler and five other people. However, one of the captives managed to escape.
A source revealed that the kidnappers specifically targeted the monarch, raising questions about their motives for the abduction.
The Edo State Police Command confirmed the incident through its spokesperson, Moses Yamu. He stated that the police received a report about the kidnapping of the traditional ruler and a 21-year-old man. Yamu explained that the monarch was riding a motorcycle when the attackers ambushed him, killing the rider before taking the ruler.
In response to the kidnapping, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, has ordered the immediate deployment of tactical teams, including the Police Mobile Force, to the area. Yamu added, “The Area Commander is personally on ground, leading the operation as directed by the Commissioner of Police.”
Security forces have increased their efforts to track down the kidnappers and ensure the safe return of the traditional ruler.
