Tems Wins Big At 67th Grammys

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has secured another major milestone in her career by winning the Best African Music Performance category at the 67th Grammy Awards.
Tems clinched the Grammy award with her song Love Me JeJe, outperforming strong contenders, including Tomorrow by Yemi Alade, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Sensational by Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay, and Higher by Burna Boy.
This victory marks Tems’ second Grammy win, further cementing her status as a leading force in African music. The Best African Music Performance category was introduced at the 2024 Grammys, with South African star Tyla becoming the inaugural winner with her global hit Water.
Tems received three nominations at this year’s Grammy awards, bringing her career total to eight Grammy nominations. In addition to her win, she was also nominated for Best Global Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning).
The 67th Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, drawing music’s biggest stars for a night of celebration and historic wins.
