BREAKING: Tinubu Moves To Sack 3 Controversial Appointees
By Benjamin Abioye
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has requested the Senate to terminate the appointments of suspended Residents Electoral Commissioners (REC) for Sokoto, Adamawa, and Abia States.
This request, made through a letter to the Senate, was read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session on Wednesday.
In another news, President Tinubu has increased the proposed 2025 budget from ₦49.7 trillion to ₦54.2 trillion, citing additional revenue generated by key government agencies.
The increase comes from ₦1.4 trillion from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), ₦1.2 trillion from the Nigeria Customs Service, and ₦1.8 trillion from other government-owned agencies.
Senate President Akpabio directed the Senate Committee on Appropriations to swiftly consider the request, assuring that the revised budget would be finalized and passed by the end of the month.
