Yul Mum As AY Reacts To Viral Video Of ‘Passionate Kiss’ With May Edochie

Popular Nollywood actor and comedian, Ayodeji Richard Makun, widely known as AY Comedian, has addressed the controversy surrounding an AI-generated video falsely depicting him kissing May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie.
The manipulated images and video, which surfaced online, were created using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and misleadingly showed AY Comedian and May Edochie in an intimate moment during a flight to the United Kingdom. The two had traveled for the premiere of AY’s latest movie, The Waiter, and had previously shared real photos of their trip, dressed in promotional attire for the event.
Reacting to the controversy, AY Comedian strongly condemned those responsible for the fake content of him and May Edochie, urging them to channel their creativity into meaningful and constructive ventures rather than spreading falsehoods. He emphasized the need for responsible use of technology, warning against the dangers of misinformation and cyberbullying.
The comedian also referenced the recent online harassment faced by reality TV star Alex Unusual, who was subjected to unfounded rumors of a romantic affair with him. He lamented the trend of tearing people down with baseless accusations, calling for more empathy and positivity on social media.
In a lengthy Instagram post, AY addressed young creatives, urging them to use their skills to uplift Nigeria rather than engage in divisive and destructive narratives. He wrote:
“Dear Online Innovators, as future leaders and change-makers, I encourage you to channel your immense talents toward building a better nation instead of tearing each other down. Nigeria is filled with potential, and your unique skills—be it in art, music, technology, or entrepreneurship—can drive positive change. Instead of using your creativity to sabotage others, let’s focus on uplifting one another.”
He further criticized those who spread false rumors, questioning why people seem determined to ruin professional relationships around him.
“The other time, it was poor @alex_unusual, who is yet to recover from all the lies and narratives meted out on her just for choosing to support a family that played a major role in her brand growth. Must you all chase away everyone working with me or trying to earn an honest living through me?”
AY called for unity and collaboration, stressing that social media should be used as a platform for innovation, support, and nation-building rather than spreading negativity. He also praised Air Peace for supporting The Waiter movie, urging netizens to focus their talents on promoting progress.
GWG.ng reports that May Edochie’s estranged husband has meanwhile yet to react to the video.
