Policemen Flee As Family Discovers Shocking Details On Inspector’s Death
By Gideon Ayeni

A disturbing incident has unfolded in Osi community, Ondo State, where family members of late Inspector Yusif Suleiman Blessing were shocked to discover the true cause of his death after police officers fled in fear.
Inspector Yusif, a 50-year-old police officer serving at Akotogbo in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, died under mysterious circumstances, which initially were reported as a drowning incident.
The police had informed his wife that he drowned while on duty. However, when his body was brought to his family for burial, they insisted on opening the sealed coffin, leading to a series of alarming revelations.
To their horror, when the coffin was opened, it was discovered that the body had been severely burned, with a cracked skull, indicating that the Police inspector had not drowned but had met a violent end. The discovery raised suspicions of foul play.
Sources close to the family reported that upon the family’s request to open the coffin, the three policemen who had brought the body fled the scene, abandoning the coffin and the vehicle in front of the family’s house. “We were surprised that the officers ran away. They refused to allow us to open the coffin and quickly fled,” a family member revealed.
Inspector Yusuf, originally from Ikoro Ekiti in Ekiti State, was found in a severely disfigured state, which has further fueled the family’s concerns. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, with many questions left unanswered.
Spokesman for the Ondo Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, assured the public that an investigation is underway and promised to provide further details once it is concluded. The family, however, continues to seek answers and justice for their late relative.
