Shock As Police Constable Takes Own Life

A police constable named Dogara Akolo-Moses, who was attached to the Mada Division of the Nasarawa State Police Command, has tragically taken his own life in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
This incident, which occurred on Tuesday, has left his colleagues and the entire police command in shock, as the reason for his action remains unclear.
On the day of the tragedy, witnesses reported that Akolo-Moses had been performing his usual duties before he retreated into a private room and shot himself.
An anonymous source, speaking to journalists, described the moment his colleagues heard a gunshot and rushed to the scene. “Colleagues of the deceased who were outside the apartment heard the gunshot, prompting them to rush inside, where they found the officer lying on the floor with his gun beside him,” the source explained.
As of the time of the report, the reasons behind the constable’s actions were still not known.
In a statement to journalists in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa state, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Nasarawa State Command, Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of this tragic event.
