Yul Edochie on Biafra

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has criticized the rising violence in the southeastern region of Nigeria, where some individuals claim to be fighting for Biafra but end up harming their own people.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Yul Edochie expressed his disapproval, questioning the logic behind such actions by the Biafra agitators. He wrote, “An Igbo man says he’s fighting for Biafra. Then he starts killing his own people. So who then are you fighting for?”

The actor emphasized that there is never a valid reason to harm one’s own people, regardless of differing beliefs. He further stated, “There can never be any justification for harming your own people, whether they agree with your ideology or not.”

Yul also pointed out that true strength lies in protecting one’s people rather than causing them harm. He added, “Only a coward kills his people to make a point. A courageous man protects his people at all costs. ONYE GBULU NWANNE YA ABURO ODOGWU!”

Yul Edochie Defends 2Baba Over Divorce Criticism

In another post following his comment on Biafra, Yul Edochie spoke out in defense of Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, amid the singer’s marital crisis.

The news of 2Baba’s separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, has sparked widespread reactions, with many criticizing him over the divorce. However, Yul believes the public has no right to interfere in their personal lives.

Addressing the situation on Instagram, he stated that people should refrain from passing judgment since they do not know the full details of what happened behind closed doors.

He also highlighted the silent struggles that many men face in marriage, explaining that they often choose not to speak about their challenges. Yul urged everyone to respect 2Baba and Annie’s decision and wish them well as they move forward.
