Former Nigerian Idol winner, Kunle Ogunrombi, better known as K-Peace, has accused the organizers of the reality music competition of failing to deliver the prizes he was promised after his victory.

K-Peace who was the Season 5 champion and won the Etisalat-sponsored 2015 edition, revealed his ordeal during an interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast with media personality Nedu Wazobia.

K-Peace expressed frustration, claiming that despite the public announcement of a ₦7.5 million cash prize, a brand-new car, and a two-week trip to Dubai, he received none of them from the Nigerian Idol organisers.

“I came outside of the Nigerian Idol platform with zero naira in my account,” he stated in a now-viral video, shocking many fans who assumed he had been rewarded.

The singer recalled enduring hardship after his win, saying he often had to attend interviews on an empty stomach, despite supposedly securing a multimillion-naira prize.

“They announced on national TV that I won ₦7.5 million with a brand-new car and a Dubai trip. But when I asked about the prize, they said they were still branding the car. I went through hell after winning the show,” he lamented.

Nigerian Idol, one of the country’s most popular talent shows, has produced several successful artists over the years, but K-Peace’s revelation has raised questions about prize fulfillment by the organizers.

As of now, the show’s organizers have not made any official statement regarding his claims that is one of the shocking news to set a cloud over the Nigerian Idol.
