She Is Not My Girlfriend, Nigerian Governor Denies Affair With BBNaija Star

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, BBNaija Star,has dismissed rumors linking him romantically with former BBNaija star, Nengi Rebecca Hampson, and allegations that they recently welcomed a child together.

Speculations about BBNaija star being in a relationship with Governor Diri, who is already married to two wives, gained traction in some sections of Nigerian news media after controversial blogger, Gistlover, suggested that the reality star had given birth to the governor’s child. The post read:

“SHALL WE?? By the way, she welcomed a child with a governor 🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶… 5th wife in the making? Make I talk abi make I face front? All these girls be doing the most, owo ijoba na yansh dey chop am… this gist is super messy… all the hide and seek don end ooo 🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶🚶.”

Reacting to the viral claim, the governor’s spokesperson, Dr. Kola Oredipe, dismissed the reports as “baseless fabrications,” stating that Nengi has no personal relationship with Governor Diri.

“Regrettably, purveyors of fake news are not happy with the towering political profile of the governor,” Oredipe said.

He further criticized social media misinformation, describing it as a distraction. “While we were inaugurating a brand new road in Yenagoa, social media e-rats were busy spreading falsehoods about the governor,” he added.

The governor’s camp has urged the public to disregard the news reports that has captured Nigerian media, saying that that they were purely speculative and without merit.
