Former Marlian Records signee, Lil Smart, has made a surprising U-turn on his allegations against his former label boss, Naira Marley.

Lil Smart who had in the past accused Naira Marley of cyberbullying, assault, kidnapping, and robbery, and with it, sparked controversy within the music industry. However, recent news reports from now Nigeria suggest a shift in his stance.

The Nigerian police had recently confirmed Lil Smart’s arrest following a petition by Naira Marley. According to an official statement released via the police’s Instagram page, he was apprehended last month at his residence in Mejamogun Estate, Ajah, Lagos, with “relevant exhibits” recovered during the operation.

In a fresh interview with the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, Lil Smart backtracked on his initial claims.

“Naira Marley never abducted me, and he didn’t steal my $300. I thought his boys acted on his behalf,” he stated, contradicting his earlier accusations.
