Veteran actress Bukky Wright has revealed how her children helped her overcome depression and has announced her plans to return to acting after a career in tech.

Veteran Nollywood actress Oluwabukola Ajoke, popularly known as Bukky Wright, has shared how her children played a vital role in helping her overcome depression.

During an interview with media personality Teju Babyface, Bukky Wright revealed that she struggled with depression and had been taking antidepressants. However, her children stepped in to support her, guiding her through the healing process.

She described her children as both her biggest critics and her strongest source of support. According to her, they regularly reminded her to stop stressing and take time to enjoy life.

She said, “There was a time when I was depressed. Yes, I was taking depression antidepressants. But my children had to wean me out of it. They have always been my number one critique.”

Bukky also expressed deep appreciation for her children, calling them her pillars. She shared their encouraging words: “I don’t know if I could call my children my pillar of life, and they know that I would love my life for them. So, they tell me, hey, Iya, you have been loving your life for us; now it is time to live for you. Enjoy yourself and have fun…”

Besides her experience with depression, Bukky Wright spoke about why she took a break from acting while living in the United States. She explained that she completely stepped away from entertainment and transitioned into the tech industry—a move that many doubted she could successfully achieve.

Now, she has announced her plan to balance both careers, assuring her fans that she will be making a return to the entertainment industry soon.
