Immense Loss For The Nation – Buhari Mourns Adebanjo

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Ayo Adebanjo, the revered Yoruba leader and elder statesman, describing his death as a significant loss to the nation.
In a statement released through his spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, Buhari acknowledged Adebanjo’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s political landscape and socio-cultural development.
“The late Chief Adebanjo was one of those rare politicians who straddled the worlds of the legal profession, politics, and socio-cultural activism,” Buhari stated.
The former president extended his heartfelt condolences to Adebanjo’s family, admirers, and the government and people of Ogun State, praying for strength and fortitude as they navigate this difficult time.
He further prayed for the repose of Adebanjo’s soul, recognizing his lifelong dedication to the betterment of Nigeria and the Yoruba people.
Adebanjo, a prominent figure in Afenifere and a key player in Nigeria’s political evolution, passed away at the age of 96. His demise marks the end of an era in the country’s socio-political history.
