Wives Of Osun State Governor on First Lady

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has secured a key leadership position as a member of the Steering Committee of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD).

Her election took place during the 29th Ordinary General Assembly of OAFLAD, held in Addis Ababa alongside the 38th African Union Summit. She will represent West Africa on the eight-member committee, alongside another regional representative, for a two-year term.

Before this appointment, Oluremi Tinubu had been actively involved in OAFLAD’s initiatives, which focus on healthcare, education, and economic empowerment for women and children across Africa. Her new role is expected to further strengthen Nigeria’s contribution to the organization’s ongoing projects, particularly in advancing its 2025-2030 Strategic Framework.

As a continental body uniting First Ladies, OAFLAD continues to drive development efforts, and Oluremi Tinubu’s appointment positions her as a key player in shaping policies that impact millions across Africa.

Meanwhile, in related development, the Presidency has asserted that the economic policies implemented by President Bola Tinubu’s administration are yielding positive results for Nigerians, particularly in reversing inflation on essential commodities.

This was disclosed by Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, in a post on X. He highlighted a decline in the prices of key food items and fuel, attributing the trend to the government’s economic strategies.

Dare stated that the price of petrol has dropped from N1,220 to N940 per liter, while the cost of maize has fallen from N120,000 to N70,000 per bag. Similarly, onions have reportedly decreased from N220,000 to N60,000, rice from N110,000 to N90,000, tomatoes from N120,000 to N60,000, and millet from N95,000 to N70,000.
