Shock As Govt Carries Out Building Demolition With People Inside (Video)
By Benjamin Abioye

A demolition allegedly carried out by the Enugu State Government has sparked outrage after a viral video showed people inside the building as it was being torn down.
The video, shared on the X platform by user @instablog9ja, captured the shocking moment when a two-storey building was being demolished while some individuals were still inside.
As the structure collapsed, two people were seen falling from the house, raising concerns about whether proper procedures had been followed before the demolition.
The incident has triggered widespread condemnation, with many Nigerians questioning the government’s actions. @DanielRegha, a popular social media influencer, expressed his frustration, saying, “Couldn’t go a day without the federal or state governments pissing you off. This was just stupid.” Similarly, @Sundayjctrucks called the act “reckless and inhumane,” adding, “The government should be held accountable if this was true.”
Some users debated whether the residents had received prior notice. @FreshBossTips argued, “But they should have been informed earlier before the demolition. This wasn’t fair at all.” Meanwhile, @ill_nojie anticipated some defending the government’s actions, stating, “People would still support this, claiming ‘notice was served but they declined it.’ I hated all of you.”
Others were deeply disturbed by the video, questioning the morality behind such an act. @ibukun_tayo asked, “Were these people actually humans? Because I could not exactly understand how they did these things 😭😭.” Similarly, @MiracleAdeolu wondered, “Was the owner of the house not a Nigerian? What country were we living in?”
The demolition also drew comparisons to similar events in other states. @rafstony26435 noted, “Imagine this happened in Lagos, everywhere would have been in chaos. Obi boys and girls would have scattered everywhere.” @cfc_gee_ added, “Thought they said Lagos was worse… but look at their own state. Wickedness.”
As outrage continued to grow, some called for accountability and a review of how evictions and demolitions were handled in the country. @chineduokoli_ insisted, “Even if they had given 100 notices, they couldn’t bulldoze a house with people inside. The authorities should have used the police to evacuate them first.”
The incident remained a heated topic, with many Nigerians demanding answers and justice for those affected.
