Abuja cleric Pastor Ifeanyi Anago has said that the original concept of love belongs to God and is beyond the imagination of the one day buzz of Valentine’s Day fascinations.

Pastor Anago spoke while giving the Sunday message at the Hospital Chapel, National Hospital, Abuja on Sunday, February 16, 2025.

He spoke on the theme “His Mercies Never Cease” as he drew lessons from the patience and pains of Jeremiah that unfolded in the perfection of God’s love.

Anago, also a quantity surveyor and lawyer, in his message read through the verses of Lamentations 3 noting the transition from the shadows of darkness unto the glorious light of God as God’s love pierced through the dark fortresses of evil.

Noting the dark experiences of Prophet Jeremiah in the first 21 verses, Barrister Anago said that it was an experience that is reflective of the feelings of many Christians.

“Somebody will say if His mercies never come to an end why am I in a mess? The person may say that he sees God’s mercies on others but not on himself,” the preacher said.

Noting how many Christians come to church with their Sunday best even in the midst of difficulties, he said:

“God is able to look beyond your packaging of your Sunday Best dressing. He sees your frustrations, your unmet needs even when you say it is well in church.”

The preacher was, however, confident that the assertion “it is well” remains true to the confessor like the Shunamite woman in her encounter with Prophet Elisha.

Encouraging the brethren, QS Anago restated that irrespective of the dark experiences as witnessed by Jeremiah that a time for the end of darkness and the materialization of God’s love was bound to come.

“The scripture says that God’s mercies never comes to an end. It does not matter what you carried to this place. God is able to deal with your issues, God is able to give you a new story from tomorrow.”

He particularly encouraged the brethren that the end of the dark side came for Jeremiah who testified of God’s mercies from Lamentations 3:22-24.

While noting that the book of Lamentations is one that many don’t like to read because few want to lament, he, however, noted that the case in point was “one stream of revelation anger, anguish” that eventually changed to hope.

Reflecting the saying that “no pain no gain” he said that “If God has not dealt with you painfully you will not be able to appreciate when the story changes.”

Noting that God was always putting Himself to give His children a happy ending and help them, the preacher spoke of how God has helped him with testimonies of survival of otherwise fatal accidents.

Noting two automobile crashes in June 1988 and June 1991 that separately left his right and left shoulders broken, he said that he passed through the experiences to be a testimony.

As he spoke, Bro Anago noted how while ministering to a congregation of multi-millionaires made a call that showed that the majority of the congregation of millionaires acknowledged that they had problems that money cannot solve.

On that note he then enjoined his congregation to look forward to the purpose for which God solves their problems, which is, that they may become His ambassadors.

“Whether money can or cannot solve your problem, praise God. When God solves your problem the essence is that you become God’s ambassador.

“God is able to do that which no one can do for you so that you can become an ambassador of God in the working place,” the cleric said. He then enjoined his audience to locate themselves within Christ as Paul wrote in his second letter to the Corinthian church in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18

As he concluded, he charged his audience on the fact that  the things that Jeremiah lamented in verses 1-20 had a context.

“Your problems may be giants like Goliath but when a small David arrives, it wlll slay the Goliaths in your life,” the preacher said in a message of assurance of picking the faith of Israel’s famous earthly king.

GWG.ng reports that the service was interspersed with prayers, testimonies and worship.
