Gov’s ‘Arrest Order’ On Braless, Pantless Women Stirs Controversy (Video)
The Soludo Security outfit in Anambra State has issued a directive stating that women seen in public without bras or panties will face arrest, claiming it was acting on the orders of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
However, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information Dr Law Meofor has, however, denied that an order was given by Governor Soludo on the arrest of women who walk in public without wearing bras or panties.
The announcement, which was shared through a video filmed by a local resident, featured a message delivered via megaphone urging young women to dress appropriately to avoid legal trouble.
According to the announcement, women seen walking without a bra or panties will be arrested. The order was reportedly from Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
However, the commissioner for information, Dr Law Mefor told GWG.ng that such an order never emanated from the governor. “Never given,” Mefor said in a terse text message to GWG.ng
The video has, however sparked a variety of reactions on social media. Some users have expressed support for the measure. One user, @supa_samax69, responded, “Very good, na married women make this petition.” Another user, @Olanisimi, agreed, stating, “Good 👏 discipline begins at home… we’re not in a white country, we’re African.”
However, others have raised concerns about the focus of the directive. @Harriet.ok questioned, “Will this reduce the killing and kidnapping in Anambra??? Please do better.” Similarly, @djdeeblack1 humorously asked, “Will they off her skirt or shorts to check if she wore panties or not?? How about the ones wey dey wear boxers or tight .: Una never serious.” @Randythelover criticized the policy, suggesting that it could be used as an excuse to harass women: “What an avenue to harass the ladies… this should not be our priority, the same people making the rule, same loving the sight… Free the braless let them breathe.”
As the video continues to circulate online, the directive has raised significant debate about its implications and priorities.
