State Assembly Removes Chief Judge Over Alleged Misconduct

The Benue State House of Assembly has approved the removal of the state’s Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Maurice Ahemba Ikpambese, over allegations of financial misconduct and abuse of office.
Lawmakers reached the decision after deliberating on accusations leveled against the embattled Chief Judge, citing concerns over his handling of judicial affairs.
Following the resolution, the Assembly directed that the most senior judge in the state take over in an acting capacity pending the conclusion of investigations into the allegations.
