Portable Not Mad, Must Surrender – Police
By Gideon Ayeni

The Ogun State Police Command has rejected singer Portable’s claim that he is mad and in psychiatric care, insisting that he must surrender himself for questioning over an alleged assault on government officials.
Portable, in a video posted on Tuesday, declared that he is a “mad man” undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta. The controversial singer made the statement while pleading with the Ogun State Government and Nigerians following his declaration as a wanted man.
However, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, dismissed the claim by Portable, stating that it would not exempt him from facing the law on his claim that he is a mad man.
“Portable will come and submit himself. He cannot be in the psychiatric hospital in Aro. Everybody knows he is a wanted person. If he is in any facility, the police must be informed. He is a wanted man,” Odutola said.
The singer was declared wanted after allegedly attacking three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office. The affected officials—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—were reportedly assaulted during an enforcement exercise at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State.
Despite his latest claims, the police insist that Portable must turn himself in as efforts to bring him to justice continue.
