Fury As Popular Blog Links ‘Davido’ To Kidnapping

Nigerian music star Davido has expressed outrage after a popular Instagram blog, Instablog, shared a story that seemingly linked him to a kidnapping case.

The controversy began when Instablog posted images of three suspected kidnappers, including their leader, who identified himself as “Davido.” According to the report, the suspects were apprehended by residents of Victory Estate in Ago Palace, Lagos State.

During interrogation, one of the kidnappers said his name was Ifeanyi from Anambra State, while the alleged leader confirmed his nickname, stating, “Davido is my nickname. I came to kidnap.” The other two suspects claimed to be from Kwara and Imo states.

However, instablog caption—“Davido and two others apprehended for kidnapping in Lagos”—sparked backlash, as it appeared to suggest a direct connection to the award-winning singer.

Reacting to the post, Davido reshared it with a stern warning to the blog. “One day go be one day…..continue…my karma no dey always tey,” he wrote, hinting at potential consequences for the misleading report.

His response has since generated buzz online, with fans sharing their perspectives on the the Instablog report that a Davido had been apprehended over kidnapping.
