Singer Prime Boy Sues Mohbad’s Mother For Defamation

Fast-rising singer Prime Boy has filed a lawsuit against Mohbad’s mother for alleged defamation, claiming her statements have damaged his reputation and sought ₦50m in damages.
Fast-rising singer Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Prime Boy, has taken legal action against the mother of his late best friend, Mohbad.
GWG.ng reports that he filed a lawsuit against Abosede Adeyemo over alleged defamation.
Prime Boy shared a legal document from the High Court of Lagos State, Ikeja, on his Instagram page on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
According to the document, Abosede made damaging and false statements about him in a video interview on March 28, 2024. These comments were published by several Nigerian news platforms, and he believes they were meant to tarnish his reputation.
He is demanding ₦50 million in damages for the alleged false and malicious claims made against him.
Meanwhile, Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Mohbad, has raised concerns about the police officers handling his son’s death investigation.
Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, Joseph said, “The police asked me to ignore the call for justice and lay my son to rest.”
He urged the government to take over the case, insisting that he has the right to know the truth about his son’s death.
