Popular media personality, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, also known as Nedu Wazobia, has made it clear that he does not regret inviting comedian DeeOne to his podcast, The Honest Bunch.

During his appearance on the podcast, DeeOne claimed that controversial media figure, VeryDarkMan, was attracted to men. This statement sparked a major reaction online and news platforms across Nigeria.

In response, VeryDarkMan accused Nedu of using his podcast to take advantage of aspiring entertainers by promising them a chance to be featured on his show. He even threatened to expose the names of women Nedu allegedly told him he had been with in the industry.

The controversy caused a huge debate in mainstream news and social media in Nigeria and eventually led to Nedu leaving the podcast.

In a later interview on TVC’s Breakfast Show, DeeOne revealed, “I was the one who set a trap for VDM using Nedu. I planned the whole thing alone, but Nedu did not know. If I had said it on social media, they would accuse me of trying to make money, but I needed a platform. I had been studying VeryDarkMan for months, and I wanted to know if he was real or just using Nigerians. Some things he gets right, but most times, he jumps to conclusions and manipulates everyone.”

However, while addressing journalists in Lagos on Thursday, Nedu maintained that he does not regret featuring DeeOne on his podcast.

Sharing his thoughts, he stated, “Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I didn’t regret bringing DeeOne to The Honest Bunch. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. The show has helped many people.”
